Coaching and Mentoring Case Study – Helena Wood
I am self-employed and deliver the range of MHFA England Adult courses. The majority of my training is delivered within the construction industry. I wanted to undertake this course as so often after delivering my training I have people coming up asking questions and I always have to tell them I am not a coach nor a counsellor, so my support has always been limited.
“I undertook the ILM Level 3 Coaching and Mentoring course as I felt it naturally fits into my role as a trainer. I chose to study at CAW as many years ago I worked with someone who undertook the mentoring course with yourselves and I can remember her saying how good she thought it was so I always kept CAW I the back of my head for when I was able to do the course.”
I hope to offer my coaching to people that attend my training courses because, as previously mentioned, so many people approach me after each session and until now I have not felt I can offer the correct support as I have not been trained to do so.
My advice for someone looking to do this course is that I cannot recommend it highly enough. It was significantly more work than I thought it would be but regardless I have thoroughly enjoyed it and found the staff extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
