This qualification covers the fundamental principles of mental health and wellbeing, equipping you with the knowledge to understand key concepts, characteristics and influencing factors. It is designed to raise awareness and promote positive mental health practices in everyday life and across a variety of workplace settings.

You will explore how to support your own wellbeing and that of others through effective communication, positive relationships, and the creation of supportive environments. You will also learn practical strategies for building personal resilience, managing stress, adapting to change, and maintaining emotional balance.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal academic requirements to start this course.

Course Content

You will work through online learning materials in your own time to gain an understanding of wellbeing and mental health, and how to promote positive mental health practices in your own everyday life and within your workplace.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Understand the concepts, characteristics and influencing factors of wellbeing and mental health
  • Support wellbeing and mental health through effective communication, positive relationships and supportive environments
  • Develop personal resilience and strategies for managing stress and change

Assessment

You will undertake a multiple-choice knowledge test, this can be taken in one of our college centres (Huntingdon, Leeds or North London) or by remote exam invigilation.

Please note, free places on this course are available to the first 30 people to complete the application process. 

If you choose to undertake the MCQ examination by remote invigilation (rather than at a college centre) a fee of £34 will apply.
