Thames Laboratories, Huntingdon are looking for an individual with excellent communication and an eye for detail to join their team. Thames Laboratories provide the full range of asbestos consultancy services, from the undertaking of asbestos management and refurbishment and demolition surveys to the design and project management of estate wide asbestos abatement strategies.
- Annual Leave: 28 days paid annual leave, including bank holidays
- Benefits: Health insurance, death in service cover
- Hours: 42 hours per week, Mon – Fri from 8.30am – 5pm
- Possible start date: Thursday 19 September
- Duration: 1 year 6 months. After this apprenticeship you will became a qualified accountants assistant and be offered a full time role with Thames Laboratories.

- Training Plan: Studying the Level 3 AAT course as an apprentice on day release via CAW Business School. Remaining days per week working as an apprentice in the office.
Duties: As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
- Daily invoicing
- Monthly invoicing collation
- Credit control including issuing monthly statements and chasing debtors
- Resolving invoicing queries
- Scheduling vehicle servicing and maintenance
- Dealing with payments or account queries over the phone
- Recording and processing purchase invoices
- Data collection and management
- Maintaining petty cash register on accounting system
- General accounts and business administration duties as required
- Assisting in the collation of payroll data
- Assisting in the processing of expense claims
- To deal with payment of invoices, recording details and preparing for authorisation
- To record and reconcile credit card transactions and statements
Experience/qualifications/qualities:
- Accounting Assistant (grade passed or working towards)
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs including English Language and Maths (grade A*-C or 9-4)
- Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know.
- IT skills
- Attention to detail
- Confident using software
- Quick learning procedures
- Autonomous working
- Experience with Xero desirable
