Functional Skills - Maths and English
Our City & Guilds Functional Skills courses in mathematics and English cover the key skills needed to progress, not only within the workplace, but in further education and training too; paving the way to both personal and professional development.
In order to make learning as accessible as possible, we have developed online, distance learning courses that allow learners who may not be able to attend College to still access quality training in the comfort of their own home or workplace.
All courses can be started at any time and are hosted on the College’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). After enrolment you will be given a username and password which will provide you with access to the VLE and all your online material. You will also be allocated a distance learning tutor who will guide and support you through your programme via email and telephone contact.
Although there is no need to attend college as all study materials are provided online, you will, however, be required to attend a CAW centre to complete the online examination. It may be possible in some instances, depending on your circumstances and the availability of an external centre, to undertake the examination at an external City & Guilds exam centre. In such cases where this is possible additional exam fees may be incurred.
