Time is running out for the old £1 coins!

There’s just one week left to spend your old £1 coins. From 16 October the old, round £1 coins will no longer be legal tender as it is fully replaced by the 12-sided version.

Shops will have the right to refuse the old version of the coin from this date, however most banks and Post Office counters will continue to accept them from customers.

Around 1.2 billion of the old coins have been returned so far, but an estimated 500 million are still in circulation. Make sure you check your wallets and purses for any loose change as the deadline looms!
